Maybank Home2u was launched on 3rd March 2022. The objective of the project is to address the identified gaps in the market in terms of customer experience for property purchase and the great inefficiency that ought to be improved.

The current process of searching for a property and applying for home financing is a disjointed one that is daunting, tedious and lengthy. Typically, an individual would have to scour many different websites and contact different property agents to view a property. After viewing the property and deciding to proceed with purchase, they then have to go through the ordeal of applying for a mortgage, often times soliciting a few different banks to check if they are eligible for financing & rates, subsequently filling up a long application form, submitting a bunch of documents and then wait to hear back for approval, which may take days or weeks.

Throughout the property purchase journey, consumers have to engage various parties and jump through many hoops. Maybank Home2u aims to close the gap to deliver convenience and excellence.

Uniqueness of the project

Maybank Home2u is a one-stop solution for consumers to purchase property. Within the app, consumers can browse, search & filter for properties nationwide, view pertinent information and purchase directly from the developer. The app features a financing calculator with property recommendation function and allows interested buyers to check their eligibility for home financing and view their personalized interest rate within the app in real-time. Furthermore, application takes mere minutes with forms being pre-filled for existing to bank customers, making the process that much more seamless. Approval within 10 seconds is also possible for customers with their salary being deposited into Maybank, with Letter of Offer ready within 1 hour in the same day. This means that Maybank Home2u is able to shorten a process that typically takes up to 1-2 weeks, to within 1 hour for qualified customers. Most importantly, there is a feature to track application status at every stage of the journey, and a dedicated consultant will be assigned to each and every application, allowing the consumer to chat with the consultant within the app itself, anytime, anywhere.

Prior to Home2u, no banks in Malaysia were able to provide a fully digital experience from browsing for properties up to home financing approval. Maybank is hailed as the first bank in the nation to do so.
